The Table to Book Before the Flight

Some reservations shape a trip more than a museum ticket or room category. Book the table that gives the city its first real voice.

Dinner as orientation

A good first dinner tells you what the city values: formality or looseness, local wine or global labels, late hours or early precision. It turns the place from a map into a mood. That is why the first table deserves more thought than the last.

Choose the right kind of famous

Avoid the restaurant that exists only for visitors unless that is the point of the trip. Look for places with a strong bar, a confident local clientele, and enough polish to absorb a tired arrival. You want memorable, not demanding.

Book around energy

If the flight lands late, book near the hotel. If you arrive mid-afternoon, book the room with the longer meal. If you are celebrating, tell them clearly. Restaurants can be generous with context, but they cannot read minds from a reservation name.
